"Thanks to LIDA's health outreach team, I received essential antenatal care and counseling. With support from community health workers, I gave birth to a healthy baby and learned about family planning, improving my family's health and wellbeing."
Driving sustainable health, resilience, and development for vulnerable populations in Kenya. Together, we create lasting impact.
Dedicated to empowering vulnerable communities through sustainable development initiatives since 1978.
The Local Initiatives Development Agency (LIDA) is a Kenyan non-governmental organization established in 1978 to tackle the challenges faced by vulnerable populations. Since our registration as an NGO in 1999, we have focused on issues such as healthcare access, food security, environmental degradation, and poverty reduction.
Our vision is to create a healthy, empowered society where everyone leads a dignified life in peace and harmony with the environment. We work closely with communities to identify their needs and co-create strategies that foster equity and resilience.
